West Coast Youth Services Inc. supports young people under 25 and their families on Lower Eyre Peninsula in their transition to adulthood and independence by providing a range of services to meet their needs.

Services include:-

"We believe every young person is a special individual who has the right to be listened to, respected, encouraged, supported, cared for, loved, understood, accepted and heard in a non judgemental, unbiased, supported environment that meets all of their needs in their journey towards independence, adulthood and a successful career."
The original name for West Coast Youth Services Inc was Youthaven which was officially opened in April 1986. Youthaven was started by a group of dedicated people in response to a community need for safe accommodation for youth at risk. One house provided accommodation for up to ten young people aged from 12 to 18. Counselling was an important part of the services provided.

This original service has grown to include shelter accommodation for up to 6 young people, 9 properties in the Stage 2 program, expanded counselling services, Outreach and a Shop Front providing services located in the central business district.

Funding for this service was provided by both State and Federal Governments and still is until this day through the Supported Accommodation Assistance Program (SAAP).
